Walk-a-thon to raise funds for Shower Trailer Project

A Walk-a-thon takes place on June 10 in Earlville to raise funds for a mobile shower trailer built by St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Oneida (http://Showers.epfumc.org).

The 3-mile Shower Trailer Walk-a-thon will begin at 2 p.m. at the Earlville United Methodist Church, 20 North Main St. (Rte 12B), Earlville. Check in/registration begins at 1:15 p.m.

Participants will be walking a loop starting from the church heading north to Craine Lake Road, going around Craine Lake and returning to the church. Refreshments will be served to participants and support individuals following the walk.

The mobile shower facility is expected to be in use in Middleburgh, NY, by June 12. The cost of the project is nearly $35,000 and the group needs some $8,000 to cover materials. Additional funds will be needed to cover transportation, supply and operating costs.

The shower trailer will be temporarily stationed in Middleburgh, but will be able to travel all over the country.

All proceeds from the Walk-a-thon will go to the Shower Trailer Project.

Walkers are asked to register so volunteers can estimate the number of participants and refreshment needs. Register online at http://Walkathon.epfumc.org; pledge sheets can be downloaded from the site. For help or questions, contact Joelle Faulks at joellefaulks@gmail.com or call (315) 569-2173.
